Is that photoshop work? Is there a tutorial somewhere so folks can learn how to make posters like that themselves?

Not so much. Drew does use photo references, but the painted style is his own. You could probably composite the individual photos in the same way, But you have to find them first. The poster isn't Photoshopped. It's all hand painted.
